Goal Identification
The initial stage is the most important part of any website design process. We must identify the expected goal and outcome. Who is the website intended for? What is expected to be found on it? Scope Definition
Once the goal of the website has been identified, we set the scope of the project. This includes what pages and features the site requires as well as a timeline to define deliverables, final design, and launch it.
Sitemap and wireframe creation
With the scope defined, we start working on the sitemap. This defines how pages relate to each other and the hierarchy they are stored in.
A wireframe of different pages is then created to give a sense of what the website will look like once completed.
Content creation
Now that the bigger picture tasks are complete, we use our research and your experience create content for the website. This can be difficult for company owners as we are looking at the company from an outside point-of-view whereas you have lived and breathed everything about it since its inception. Conveying the information your customers need to hear from you can be difficult but is worth the investment of time.
Visual Elements
With the website’s architecture and some content in place, we start working on the visual aspects that give it character. Depending on the company, some of these may be well defined by your previous marketing material whereas for other’s we will work on this from the ground up. Testing
This is the final step before we launch the website. By now, all the pages and content are created. It is just a matter of making sure all the small things are in place. Spelling, grammar, non-broken links, etc.
Launch
Once everything is looking good, it is time to execute the launch of the website. This includes hosting deployment, setting up content delivery networks, and announcing it to the world and more importantly, your current and potential customers.
